Bundesliga Matchday 3 - Review!
Union Berlin vs FSV Mainz
Videep:
Union Berlin showed everyone last season why they deserve to stay up, and this game proved why they are such a top-class team. Scoring four against Mainz as a club of their stature is already a big achievement. Moreover, they dominated from the word go and gave no opportunities to the visiting side.
Stuttgart vs Bayer Leverkusen
Videep:
In a quite balanced game in terms of possession, shots taken and duels won. Bayer Leverkusen took an early lead and was doing quite well to defend it. Unfortunately for them, Stuttgart was also doing enough to get that equaliser and even take the lead on a couple of occasions. A 76th-minute equaliser earned the home team their deserved one point.
FC Koln vs Borussia Monchengladbach
Videep:
Monchengladbach finally returned to winning ways while putting more misery on their opponents on the day who have now lost all of their opening three league games. Monchengladbach took a quickfire lead through consecutive goals in two minutes, pinning Koln down from then. A penalty dispatched by Lars Stindl gave them a three-goal cushion at the half-hour mark. Koln found their consolation goal late in the 84th-minute.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Hoffenheim
Videep:
While Hoffenheim took the lead with Andrej Kramaric scoring in the 18th-minute. They also somewhat dominated in the first half, but the home team changed courses in the second-half as they looked a different team, altogether. They took the lead in the 54th-minute to equalise before Bas Dost found himself on the scoresheet in the 71st-minute to win the game for Frankfurt.
Borussia Dortmund vs Freiburg
Videep:
Erling Haaland continued his scoring streak by scoring twice and assisting once. Emre Can also found himself as a scorer as Dortmund showed how lethal they can be on a good day. Freiburg found their first loss of the season. Dortmund showed why they deserve to be the title contenders and why they should be feared.
Werder Bremen vs Arminia Bielefeld
Videep:
Leonardo Bittencourt scored the only goal of the game in the 27th-minute in a quite dull game. Bielefeld finally lost in the topmost-tier as the game was dominated by them looking at the statistics. Bremen won their second of the campaign in a quite unconvincing game.
RB Leipzig vs FC Schalke
Videep:
Leipzig totally destroyed Schalke to take them on to of the table and sink Schalke to the bottom. An own-goal helped Leipzig take the lead and their last came off a penalty. The second and third goals came from players who would be looked to fill the Werner-shaped mould in their attack.
VfL Wolfsburg vs Augsburg
Videep:
Wolfsburg could have easily walked out with the three points if VAR hadn't played a role as a 26th-minute strike was disallowed. Wolfsburg was totally dominant throughout and would have hoped to get at least a goal for their efforts. Unfortunately for them, their finishing was very wasteful.
Bayern Munich vs Hertha Berlin
Videep:
The first-half score was 1-0 and involved a disallowed goal for Bayern. Lewandowski doubled his tally for the day in the 51st-minute to make it 2-2. Hertha scored 2 consecutive goals in the 59th-minute and 71st-minute, respectively to equalise and make it 2-2. Lewandowski scored again to complete his hat-trick in the 85th, only for Hertha to cancel it out again. Lewandowski converted 90+3rd-minute penalty to win the game for Bayern in the dying minutes.
