Transfer Window Roundup - Part 2!

LUIS SUAREZ

Sid:
Barcelona terminated Suarez's contract after the arrival of new manager Ronald Koeman. Suarez then moved to Atletico Madrid where he proved that he is not done by scoring twice and assisting once in just 20 minutes in his debut game after coming off the bench. Although Atletico then drew their next two games, there is still time for them to bounce back and for Suarez to prove his haters wrong.

Aayush:

Luis Suarez joined Atletico after leaving Barca for just 6 million euros. Now his destination is the Spanish capital. Luis Suarez knew he had to leave the club when Ronald Koeman said that Suarez is not a part of his plan. He was to sign for Ajax, but that option was quickly shut down. Then, he was rumoured to go to Juventus but, some irregularities in his Italian test and the signing of Alvaro Morata cancelled that option as well.

ARTURO VIDAL

Sid:
Another older player that Barcelona got rid of, Vidal backed to Italy and signed for Inter Milan for minimal fees and also has to prove the people at Barcelona that releasing him was a mistake. Vidal seems to be an important piece of Conte's Milan and hopefully, can also prove his haters wrong, as well as Inter Milan, will be challenging for the title this season.

Aayush:

Inter completed the signing of a midfielder, Arturo Vidal, from Barcelona. Vidal has previously played for Antonio Conte at Juventus and will meet him again after 2 years at Barca. Inter confirmed the signing on their website and have paid 1 million euros + add-ons.

ACHRAF HAKIMI

Sid:
Hakimi had said that he wanted to play for Real Madrid after his loan at Dortmund expires but later on decided to switch to Inter Milan as well on a permanent deal for around 40 million pounds on a five-year deal. For Inter, this is a great signing as Hakimi shows lots of potentials and also fits right in their system and if Inter does win the league, he will have a lot of credit to claim for himself.

Aayush: Real Madrid confirmed that Inter signed Hakimi for 40 million euros in a 5-year contract. Madrid has to pay 5 million euros every year to Inter until 2025 as per the agreement. 

JAMES RODRIGUEZ

Sid:
Unwanted by Zinedine Zidane, James Rodriguez signed for Carlo Ancelotti yet again and this time for free. Rodriguez has been absolutely fantastic and already has 3 goals and 2 assists in just 4 games and has also won those 4 games as Everton now sit at the top of the tree. Rodriguez has shown that he still is the same player he was when he made his breakthrough and would hopefully continue on this path.

Aayush:

Everton confirmed the sensational signing of Real Madrid playmaker James Rodrigues. James joins the club in a 2-year deal for 25 million despite a year left in his Madrid contract. The 29-year-old links up with Ancelotti once again after playing under him in Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

RUBEN DIAS

Sid:
Manchester City had been chasing Koulibaly since last year and when they realized that the deal was not moving forward, switched to Benfica defender Ruben Dias who they signed for 50 million pounds along with Nicolas Otamendi joining Benfica as well. Dias has proved himself in Portugal but the real test lies in front of him as he would hope to become better while at Manchester City.

Aayush: 

Manchester City announced the signing of Ruben Dias from Benfica; City paid 65 million pounds for the Portuguese centre-back who signed a 6-year deal. Otamendi moved in the opposite direction in a deal worth 13.7 million pounds.

ARTHUR

Sid:
Arthur joined Juventus for around 70 million pounds with 10 million in variables and made his debut against Roma. Juventus seemed to have clearly benefitted from the deal as Arthur's performance on the pitch was noteworthy and shows excellent potential as well and can fix the problems that Juventus have faced last season.

Aayush: 

Barca confirmed that the Brazilian midfielder signed for Juventus for 70 million euros, and Barcelona will take Pjanic (worth 60 million euros). Arthur is in Barca since 2018, and Pjanic won 4 Serie A titles with Juventus in the last 4 seasons. Both the players completed their respective leagues before joining their new teams.

MIRALEM PJANIC

Sid:
The other player in the swap deal between Barcelona and Juventus, Pjanic signed for Barcelona on a four-year contract with a release clause of 400 million Euros. Barcelona paid around 60 million Pounds for Pjanic who will wear the number 8 which was once worn by Andres Iniesta. Pjanic has a huge legacy to carry and will have to prove his worth once again while playing alongside Messi.

Aayush:

Barcelona confirmed the signing of Pjanic, The deal involved Arthur going to Juventus after completing the season. Both the clubs confirmed it on their websites. 

ALPHONSO AREOLA

Sid:
Areola really did go from Paris Saint Germain's first-choice keeper to Real Madrid's second choice keeper to Fulham's keeper in just one year. Newly promoted Premier League side Fulham signed Areola on a one-year loan deal from Paris and currently, neither Areola nor Fulham seems to be doing well after losing all three of their opening games and it seems like this is how the season will be going.

Aayush:

Fulham confirmed the signing of PSG goalkeeper Alphonse Areola on a one-year loan deal. Areola played for Real Madrid on loan last year as a substitute to Thibaut Courtois. The 27-year-old has now joined the Premier League.

EMILIANO MARTINEZ

Sid:
Martinez signed for Arsenal back in 2012, and it took him eight years to finally get his big break. Martinez was massive following the injury of Leno and caught the eye of Aston Villa who bought him for 20 million pounds. Martinez had saved every single shot he faced for Aston Villa and later on played a key role in the 7-2 win against Liverpool this week. Exactly the signing Aston Villa needed.

Aayush:

Martinez signed for Aston Villa in a 4-year contract with the transfer fees to be around 20 million pounds. He will be paid 60k per week. Aston Villa has changed a lot of goalkeepers in recent years. With some other new signings such as Matty Cash, Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa is definitely looking to improve their team.

THIAGO

Sid:

Liverpool managed to get an absolute bargain out of Thiago, who had just won the treble with Bayern Munich. Thiago had expressed than he wanted to leave the club and go venture in the Premier League and signed for Liverpool who had just won the league and strengthen their squad even more. Thiago will bring the midfield creative that is much lacked and needed in Liverpool and will a great player.

Aayush:

Bayern confirmed that Thiago will be joining Liverpool. The Spaniard was crucial in Bayern's win last year but was looking for something new even though 1 year was left in his contract. It was very good of Bayern to let Thiago go. Liverpool signed Thiago for 25 million pounds in a 4-year contract.

DIOGO JOTA

Sid:
Liverpool signed Jota from fellow Premier League team Wolves right after they had signed Thiago and also after Klopp had told that his team does not have as much money as other teams to spend. Jota cost a little less than Werner himself for whom Klopp said that Liverpool did not have enough money for. Nevertheless, Jota is and can play at both the wing and as a striker which makes him very good.

Aayush:

Jurgen Klopp continues to add players to his squad, and Jota is the new one. The deal is of 45 million pounds + 4.5 million pounds. Klopp would be delighted to with Jota because he can add depth with Origi and Minamino and cover-up if the trio (Salah, Mane, and Firmino) breaks for some match. The deal also sees Ki-Jana Hoever go to the other side with a price worth 30 million pounds. Jota would flourish under Klopp; the fees are beneficial for Wolves as well. It was a win-win deal.

SERGIO REGUILON

Sid:
One more addition to Tottenham, Regulion signed for Spurs for the next five years although Real Madrid has a buyback clause that they can activate. If Regulion really wants to play for Madrid, he can prove himself in the Premier League for the next couple of seasons before choosing to go back or choosing to stay but he is certainly an important signing following Danny Rose's departure.

Aayush: 

Tottenham bought Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid; Reguilon was part of a double swoop with a Gareth Bale. Tottenham signed the 23-year-old for 32 million pounds. Sevilla was also in the race to sign him, but they accepted their defeat.

GARETH BALE

Sid:

Bale finally put a rest to his battle with Zidane and decided to go on a loan back to Tottenham although it looks like he will not be going back to Madrid after this as his jersey number was instantly taken by Asensio whose jersey number was then taken by Vinicius. Bale seems to be very happy coming back and certainly, that is what is best for both Bale and Real Madrid.

Aayush:

Gareth Bale has moved back to Tottenham after 7 years. He has joined the spurs for a 1-year deal where half the salary will be paid for Madrid. He will be paid a total of 600k per week. He proved to be one of the best exports, winning two La Liga and 4 Champions League with Real Madrid. But, he started having some problems with Zinedine Zidane. Bale has previously spent six seasons with Spurs.

ALVARO MORATA

Sid:

Juventus went from Suarez to Dzeko and then to Morata who rejoins the team for a one-year loan worth 10 million and with an option to buy for 45 million. Juventus really needed a striker following the departure of Higuain to Inter Miami and although Morata may not be the best choice, he is good enough and can be of good support to Ronaldo and Dybala under Pirlo's management.

Aayush:

Juventus completed the signing of Alvaro Morata this summer. He rejoins the club on loan with a 10 million euro deal with an offer to buy him for 45 million euros. Juventus can extend their loan, which will reduce his price to 35 million euros. The 27 years-old has previously spent two years at the club.

EDUARDO MENDY

Sid:

Following the horrors of Kepa, Chelsea have finally signed a keeper, Mendy for around 22 million pounds and even though Mendy will most probably not become the first choice goalkeeper, he can build up the pressure on Kepa and if he slips up anytime, Chelsea can turn to Mendy instantly just like David De Gea and Dean Henderson at Manchester United.

Aayush: Chelsea successfully signed Mendy this season. Chelsea was linked with him for a long time as questions were being raised on Kepa.

DOUGLAS COSTA

Sid:
With the arrival of Kulusevki and Chiesa and Costa falling further down the pecking order at Juventus due to injuries, Douglas Costa has decided to go back to  Bayern Munich on a one year loan. After just 1 goal and 1 assist in 18/19 and playing just 1100 minutes in 19/20 which is just over 12 full games, Costa will bring experience and depth to a young Bayern squad and will be a very good asset for them.

Aayush:

Bayern has completed the signing of Douglas Costa. Costa joins Bayern on a 1 season loan. He has previously spent 3 seasons with Bayern and has appeared 50 times for them! He won two Bundesliga with them as well.

THOMAS MEUNIER

Sid:
With Hakimi leaving for Inter Milan and Piszczek announcing his retirement next season, Dortmund needed a right back and decided to give Meunier a four-year contract who contracts at Paris Saint Germain had expired. Meunier is a pretty solid defender and that is the one area where Dortmund lacks and hopefully can improve their defence if they have to challenge for the Bundesliga.

Aayush: Meunier has signed a 4 year deal with Dortmund. Meunier was previously linked with Tottenham and Arsenal. But, he joined Dortmund for an opportunity to start. Thomas will be a replacement for Hakimi.

DANILO PEREIRA

Sid:

The first signing on the deadline day, Danilo Pereira left Porto to join Paris Saint Germain on a one-year loan deal. As a defensive midfielder, Danilo can be a very important first-team player for Paris and could allow Marquinhos to return to defence as well to cover up Thiago Silva's position. Pereira could very possibly be the missing piece in Paris's team and will certainly improve the squad.

Aayush:

PSG announced the arrival of the 29 years-old on loan. He will wear the #15 jersey!

BEN CHILWELL

Sid:
Chelsea continued on their spending spree and bought English right-back Ben Chilwell from Leicester City for 45 million pounds. Chilwell has been at Leicester City since he was 12 years old and has made 99 appearances for the club before moving to Chelsea where he scored a goal and grabbed an assist in his debut for Chelsea in the Premier League which was also his 100th game in the league.

Aayush:

Chelsea has completed the signing of Ben Chilwell in a 5-year contract, He becomes the third major signing of Chelsea after Ziyech and Werner. He will play with another major signing Thiago Silva at the back.

ALEXIS SANCHEZ

Sid:

Alexis Sanchez came out to the public and said that he wanted his United contract terminated after just one training session. Luckily, Sanchez finally managed to move out of Manchester and moved to Milan on a free transfer and has much better at Milan than at United and also seems to be finding his form and rhythm back and he could be very deadly if that happens.

Aayush:

Inter officially confirmed the signing of Manchester United forward, Alexis Sanchez, in August. The 24-year-old has been impressing us since joining Inter on loan; Alexis Sanchez joined Manchester United from Arsenal and scored only 4 goals for them in 45 appearances. He was being paid 500k + bonuses each week.

CHRIS SMALLING

Sid:

After spending last season and loan and earning the respect of many people that he had lost while at Manchester United and performed brilliantly especially during the beginning of the season. Smalling was so good that Roma signed him permanently for 20 million Euros on a 4-year contract. Looks like Smalling's days of being laughed at are over after all.

Aayush:

Chris Smalling signed for Roma, leaving Manchester United. Smalling impressed us last season when he was on loan at Roma. He played 37 times, and Roma finished 5th in the league. Smalling also reached the Europa League quarter-finals with Roma. The 30-year-old joined United in 2010, leaving Fulham. He played 323 matches for United and scored 18 goals. He won two PL titles with the Devils and succeeded at Fa Cup and EFL as well. Smalling will play his first match when Benevento is hosted.

VICTOR OSIMHEN

Sid:
Napoli smashed their own record once again to sign 21-year-old Osimhem from Lille for 70 million Euros. With Jose Callejon moving to Fiorentina, Osimhen is likely to get more playtime along with Insigne, Mertens, Milik, and Lozano. Napoli has great attacking options and with Koulibaly staying, their defence is also pretty solid this season. 

Aayush: Napoli confirmed the signing of Victor Osimhen from Lille in July. Osimhem moves to Napoli on a fee that could rise up to 80 million euros and has signed a 5-year deal. The Nigerian joined Lille last season and took the Ligue 1 by storm. He scored 18 goals and contributed 6 assists. He is a great addition and can press forward nicely; he will be a great addition to Napoli.

THOMAS PARTEY

Sid:
Arsenal let both Toreirra and Guendouzi leave on season-long loans but did not have anyone to replace them with, luckily for Arsenal fans, Arsenal finally decided to activate Partey's release clause and sign him for 45 million Pounds making him their signing of the season. Hopefully, Partey will live up to his price tag or else he will be getting not so nice comments on Arsenal Fan TV.

Aayush:

Athletico Madrid confirmed a few days ago that Thomas Partey terminated his contract, to join Arsenal. It was reported that Athletico was angry as neither Arsenal nor Partey told them about any transfer. Arsenal paid 50 million euros of the release clause. Athletico was unable to stop this transfer as the amount was submitted to La Liga already! The Ghanian star joined Athletico in 2015 and his exit to London is a serious blow to the club as they were planning to use him in the ongoing campaign.
