Leaked and Released Jerseys of the 2020-21 season from La Liga - Kit Review!
Football
in most countries has come to the end of the season. Fans are left with two
options - complain and wait till the next set of fixtures are announced, and to
feel excited as all clubs start dropping their kit concepts and styles for the
upcoming season. I choose to feel excited. Here, we will take an analytical
view of major kit releases and leaks and rate them. Today, we continue
from where we left last time and start with the Spanish clubs playing at the top-most
tier.
Deportivo Alaves
Kelme is the official kit sponsors for Alaves and has therefore designed the jerseys.
Home
A nice, elegant look is worthy to be worn by anyone. The blue and white stripes combine well and the false collar adds a nice look. Moreover, the betway logo fits in well. A little repetitive, though.
Rating – 7/10
Away
A comparatively fresh look in the Spanish Leagues inspired a little by the original Ajax jerseys with the white sides. The red colour bordered by the blue look really nice and fresh to look at.
Rating – 9/10
Third
Another black/gold jersey for this season and to be honest, I’m getting tired of looking at the same pattern. There's a nice pattern on the body and a separate pattern on the sleeves. While the strip is quite comfortable to look at, the combination is being played by quite a few teams.
Rating – 8.5/10
Athletic Club
New Balance is the official kit manufacturer and distributor for the 2020-21 season. Note – no official unveiling regarding any jersey has taken place so far, kits based on leaks.
Home
Nothing we haven’t seen for all these years, same shades of white and red.
More stripes in the front certainly look better, though.
Rating – 6/10
Away
The grey looks nice. The red and black lines on the grey? Not so much. A
plain grey jersey would have been nice to look at, but the lines have certainly
spoiled that look.
Rating – 4/10
Atletico
Madrid
Nike is the official
jersey manufacturer for Atletico Madrid. The third kit has not been released
yet, the design is based on leaks and concepts.
Home
Wow. This jersey has too many nice elements to it. The brushstroke white
and red stripes. The blue-collar. The little pattern on the back. It’s a great
take on an otherwise typical jersey, where modern meets classical.
Rating – 9/10
Away
Nice dark colour. The red makes it better. All logos in red certainly
makes it more appealing. And the red on the sides is like the cherry on the cake.
Not to mention, the pattern leading up to the sides.
Rating – 9/10
Third
Not quite impressive. We have certainly seen this in the past few years,
not to forget that it was worn by Barcelona in their treble-winning season. A
fad design, I’m not impressed.
Rating – 4/10
FC Barcelona
Nike is the kit designer and official
manufacturer for Barcelona. The most awaited jerseys all around the world tend
to be that of Barcelona. Only the home and away kits have been released so far,
both for outfield players and goalkeepers.
Home
This jersey
was appreciated by almost everyone as it is similar to that worn by the 2011 squad which won several accolades and worn by several legends, as well. A line
of gold separating every blue and red strip. The same gold on the collars. And
a pattern in the back. Brilliant execution of designs.
Rating – 9.5/10
Away
The first black jersey to be revealed for the next season. Not too many complaints. Golden logos, collars and sleeve trim. Maybe Messi wearing it makes it look better.
Rating – 8.5/10
Third
It is a very okay jersey and design. Nothing more than ‘okay’. The colour scheme is alright. The hints of turquoise add a nice look to it. It certainly makes the badge look better.
Rating – 6/10
Fourth
Now I don’t even get why they need a fourth kit. To make things worse,
Nike has managed to make it the most controversial fourth kit it could have
made. The Blaugrana stripes merge into the Catalonia stripes. The collar
remains the same as the home jersey. The strip certainly looks good, though.
Rating – 8/10
Goalkeeper
Kits
The pattern is exactly like that of Liverpool’s goalkeeper jersey. The
colours are certainly better and brighter. We have seen Barca goalie Ter
Stegen wearing similar colours for the past few years so it is not really a surprise to see Nike continuing the colour scheme.
Overall Rating – 8/10
Celta
Vigo
Adidas is the
official kit sponsors and distributors for 2020-21.

Simple. Easy. Efficient. Beautiful.

Away
The colour,
the horizontal stripes, the shoulder stripes. So elegant. So perfect.
Rating – 9/10
Eibar
Joma is the official kit designers
after the deal with Puma ends.
Home
A more
traditional look, but still one that has been used by too many teams too many
times. A classical, more repetitive look is going to be sported by Eibar this
season.
Rating – 6/10
Away
A white jersey on which is a diagonal sash which merges from blue to red as
we go down. The collar has a nice look to it as do the sleeve trims.
Rating – 7.5/10

Getafe
Joma is the kit
sponsors for Getafe CF, in a series of jerseys which have a black stripe running
through the collar, which is explained to be the team’s way of paying homage to
those affected by the coronavirus.
Home
A plain blue, with no detailing. A simple jersey for paying homage to
those who were killed by the virus.
Rating – N/A
Away
A plain red, with no detailing. A simple jersey, giving out a message of
support.

Leganes
Joma is the official kit sponsor and manufacturer and has revealed only the third kit.
Third
The kit is of the
same colour as the uniform of the sanitation workers, hence paying them
respect. The detailing is done in white.
Rating – 8/10
Osasuna
Jerseys are
manufactured and provided by Adidas.
Home
The red and gold looks awfully similar to the 2010 World Cup-winning
jersey Spain wore. Absolutely no complaints. Clean design and perfect
looking.
Rating – 9/10
Away
The blue and gold pair up surprisingly well, and the result is this away jersey. Another
good look for Osasuna.
Rating – 8.5/10
Third
Classic white and black, nothing new, almost boring to look at.
Rating – 6/10
Real Madrid
Adidas has unveiled the home and away
jerseys as the main kit sponsors.
Home
The pink
highlights make this jersey really good to look at. Looking at this makes me
feel nice. The V-cut on the collar is a nice addition.
Rating – 9/10
Away
The dark
blue highlights make this jersey jump out. Real Madrid has worn pink before,
but the blue highlights make this experience better.
Rating – 8.5/10
Real
Sociedad
Macron is the kit
manufacturers for Sociedad.
Home
A typical blue/white jersey. Nothing is making this jersey seem
special and it’s worse than average.
Rating – 4/10
Away
Black and orange is a really nice combination and it’s a shame that it hasn’t experimented with more. The collar looks good and the lack of sponsors really makes the colours seem better.
Rating – 7.5/10
Villarreal
Joma is the official
kit distributor and manufacturer.
Home
The traditional yellow has not even been touched. Nothing special has been
added. It stays the same bright home jersey it always has been.
Rating – 3/10
Away
This jersey has everything. From good base colour to a nice supporting
colour. The alternate collar-sleeve theme has worked well for them as it had
for Manchester City last season. Brilliant overall.
Rating – 8.5/10
Third
An experiment went right. The corner of this jersey has the same blue that runs through the sides, shoulder stripes and collars. It’s a brilliant effort and a gamble paid off well.
Rating – 8/10
