Premier League MD31 Preview, Serie A MD27 Preview, La Liga MD31 Preview
Premier League
Leicester City would like to get back on track with a win against a confident Brighton. Leicester comes in with a draw against Watford and Brighton come in with a last-minute winner against Arsenal. Leicester would almost cement their place in the top four with a win. Leicester City is almost sure to win this one...
Tottenham will be playing their second-consecutive home game as they welcome West Ham, who are coming from a loss against Wolves. West Ham is out of the bottom three only because of their goal difference and would look to get points to stay away. Tottenham will still go in the game as hot favourites seeing off an attacking Manchester United side on the weekend.
United will be hosting Sheffield United, which will be a very interesting fixture to look out for. Both sides are in the running for a spot to qualify for Europe and whichever team pulls off a win will have the upper hand to qualify. I believe Manchester United will get the three points from Sheffield, who will put in a strong defensive display.
Newcastle and Aston Villa will play for Newcastle's mid-table finish and for Villa's stay in the Premier League. Villa's fans nor management would like for star player Jack Grealish to leave, but if they fail to stay up, he will be moving to a bigger club.
Norwich City seems desperate for points and can get them if they put in an aggressive game against Everton, who come in playing off a draw against their Merseyside rivals. Everton would like to get a better finish under star manager, Carlo Ancelotti.
Wolves will look to continue their streak of wins to qualify for Europe by beating Bournemouth. At this stage, Bournemouth seems favourites to get relegated and losing 2-0 to Crystal Palace on the weekend did not help their case.
Liverpool will want to mathematically win the league as fast as they can. A win against Palace at Anfield would leave them two points away from winning the league. Palace, though, come into the game after a good performance against struggling Bournemouth.
Burnley will find it hard getting any points away from when they host Watford, as the hosts have been in red-hot form lately and would look to continue their streak.
Southampton will be hosting a struggling, injury-struck Arsenal, and they are the only team from the 'Big 6' who is expected to lose this matchday, provided Chelsea and Man City play out a draw against each other.
Chelsea vs Manchester City will be the game to watch as both teams will be sure to be playing in the Champions League next season. Both teams have been in great form lately, but Chelsea have the upper hand as they have the psychological boost of having both, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner playing for them next season
Serie A
Matchday 27 kicked off in the top tier of Italian football with Fiorentina and Brescia playing out a 1-1 draw, AC Milan getting 4 past a week Lecce side and Juve coming back to win 2-0 against Bologna after their final loss against Napoli.
Tonight, SPAL will be hosting Cagliari, with most fans expecting to see Cagliari overcome SPA, who are relegation-threatened.
Napoli will be visiting Verona, going in form after beating the Cristiano Ronaldo side, Juventus, and expecting to beat them.
Genoa and Parma will lock horns in a game that is touted to end in a stalemate, regardless of the teams' respective positions on the points table.
Torino will be hosting Udinese in another game expected to end as a draw because both teams have equivalent points and would be happy to avoid relegating.
Inter would be looking to dominate an inferior Sassuolo side, hoping their goal difference will not be the cause of them not being in the Champions League next season. Sassuolo would be happy to pull off a draw and earn a single point against Inter.
Roma will be hosting Sampdoria and would hope to solidify their position to qualify for the Champions League in case either Inter or Atalanta slip up. Sampdoria would like to avoid slipping to Serie B as relegation is in the cards if they play their moves wrong for them.
The game of the week will be Atalanta hosting Ciro Immobile's Lazio. Both teams are in the top four leading up to the game and it will be a test for Lazio's defence to see off a ruthless Atalanta attack, who have scored the most goals this season.
La Liga
Matchday 31 was kicked off in Spain by Villareal who played out a 2-2 draw against Sevilla in a game where Sevilla would have liked to win. Unfortunately for them, they found themselves down by a goal twice in the game and had to work to equalise both times.
Leganes and Granada failed to score against each other and the score ended up being 0-0 at the full-time whistle.
Tonight, Levante host Atletico Madrid, where mid-table Levante might be overlooked by the giants from Madrid and would look to pull off an underdog victory, as has been this season of La Liga.
Real Valladolid will be hosting Getafe, where Getafe would look to get three easy points to be in a great position to finish in the top six and qualify for the Europa League next season.
Barcelona and Real Madrid see themselves in easy positions to get all the points to continue the title race as Barca host Athletic Club and Real host Real Mallorca. Barcelona has a harder game when compared to Real Madrid, who would hope for another slip up by the current titleholders.
